Chocolate: the New Sunscreen?

Everyone knows that it is vitally important to protect the skin from the sun to prevent damage, wrinkles, and possibly even skin cancer. But did you know that eating chocolate can actually help protect you from those damaging UV rays?

According to the Journal of Nutrition, chocolate contains two very powerful compounds with antioxidant properties: epicatechin and catechin, and these compounds can actually protect you from harmful UV radiation.

There is one catch – you have to eat the chocolate to get the protective benefits. Oh well, some sacrifices are simply worth making!
